We are talking about a sharp, double-edged, and combative chess opening for Black.

The Sicilian Najdorf arises after the moves 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 a6 (diagram).

In this mega bundle, you'll be getting 53+ hours of premium chess courses on the Sicilian Najdorf.

Some of the courses are from Black's perspective, and some are from White's point of view.

Regardless of which side are you on, this bundle is the absolute guide for those who want to master the Sicilian Najdorf.

How is this course on the Sicilian Najdorf going to help you?

You'll learn:

The Rook Sacrifice on c3. Due to the fact that Black’s queenside rook almost always goes to the half-open c-file, Black often has the possibility of sacrificing an exchange on c3. Generally speaking, there are some conditions under which this sacrifice gives Black sufficient compensation for the material investment.

The d5-break in the center. It’s a common theme in the Sicilian Najdorf to aim for a d5-break in the center. Especially in the lines where Black plays an early …e5, the d5-square and the backward d6-pawn are weak.

Stunning Tactics. Watching these videos will build your intuitive feel for your attacking options, and when and where to chase your opponent’s pieces. This makes it easy to set up jaw-dropping tactics.

Empire Chess - Vol 16

If you are looking for an opening for black against 1. e4 where you are guaranteed to be able to fight for a win in every variation, look no further! The Sicilian Najdorf is the most aggressive weapon for black against 1. e4.

The Sicilian Defense has been consistently providing the most double-edged positions in chess over the last 70 years.

From the very first moves, the Sicilian Najdorf presents a level of danger for both sides that is unseen in any other chess opening - providing an exceptionally high percentage of decisive results.

The reasons for this are simple - the Sicilian Najdorf creates huge imbalances by the very nature of the structure. In most variations, black makes long-term positional concessions in the form of a backward d6 pawn and a permanent weakness on the d5 square.

In exchange, black gets immediate and long-term tactical compensation and activity in the form of rapid minor piece development, strong counterplay on the half-open c-file, and constant opportunities to bust the game open via thematic pawn breaks such as ..d6-d5 and ..b7-b5.

About the Author:

At 2631 FIDE, Grandmaster Rafael Leitao is the highest rated player in Brazil and South America and continues to dominate in numerous recent tournaments, practically running the table in all of South America.

GM Rafael Leitao has played the Sicilian Defense, especially de Najdorf variation for nearly 20 years and in this 3-hour chess DVD, he provides the viewers with the positional foundation that is required to achieve consistent success with this complicated defense against 1. e4.

GM Leitao explains that you should understand the positional concepts associated with mainline theory, but that doesn't mean you have to memorize every single line.

How is this course going to help me?

In this chess DVD, the Brazilian Grandmaster presents his recommended variations in every mainline and sideline of the Najdorf variation so that viewers will have a complete, narrowly focused arsenal with black against 1. e4!

The Sicilian Defense, especially the Najdorf variation is truly an opening where black maintains opportunities for active play and winning chances in every single line. There are no easy ways for white to choose a dull line and try to force a drawish position from the opening.

This exactly why the Sicilian Defense is one of the most popular chess openings at the Grandmaster and world chess champion level - it has been employed frequently by legendary players like Bobby Fischer, Garry Kasparov, Viswanathan Anand, Veselin Topalov, Boris Gelfand, and more.

The only downside of the Sicilian Najdorf is that you must be familiar with the theory to achieve great success. However, that doesn't mean you need to memorize 10 different main lines and sidelines to get good positions from the opening.

Here's some of what you'll learn with this course:

Thematic pawn breaks

Black typically aims for the pawn breaks involving ..d6-d5 and ..b7-b5 to liberate his position, combined with strong pressure on the half-open c-file.

Play Against 7.Bg5

GM Leitao will show you fashionable ways to play against the most tactical variation of the Najdof Sicilian, as well as the very popular English attack with 7.Be3 and g4.

Bobby Fischer's favorite line

Learn how to play against the Sicilian Najdorf yourself, using the variation that was the longtime favorite of former world champion, GM Bobby Fischer, 7.Bc4.

As presenter GM Rafael Leitao explains, you must understand the reasons behind the moves to be truly successful with the black pieces when playing the Sicilian Najdorf.

Get ready to win against 1.e4 with the black pieces!

Mastering the Sicilian Najdorf - GM Andrei Volokitin - Emprie Empire Chess Vol 86

GM Andrei Volokitin presents a 3-hour masterclass on the Sicilian Najdorf - considered the Rolls Royce (or Cadillac) of chess openings. A favorite of Bobby Fischer and Garry Kasparov, the Najdorf variation gives both White and Black many ways to play for a win.

However, the opening is so sharp that one mistake can mean defeat - which is why it is essential to understand the Najdorf properly if you are going to play it yourself or if you are a 1.e4 player. Even after the initial moves (1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 a6) there are many good alternatives.

There are the 4 Bishop moves:

Bg5 - controlling d5 by challenging the Knight, incredibly sharp

Be3 - aiming to castle Queenside and start a pawn storm against Black's King

Be2 - Karpov's favorite, the positional move

Bc4 - Fischer's favorite, eyeing d5 but expect sacrifices on e6 and f7 too.

...and 4 pawn moves:

6.f3 - planning Be3 and Qd2 without allowing Ng4

6.h3 - followed by g4 and often Bg2, White can choose to play aggressively or positionally

6.a4 - restricting Black's Queenside counterplay straight away

6.f4 - the most aggressive move, White will play e5 or f5

All of these are covered in great depth during this 3 hour DVD by Super GM Andrei Volokitin, who has many fantastic wins with both colors in the Najdorf. With a peak FIDE rating of 2725 and notable wins over the likes of Magnus Carlsen (this game is on the DVD), Hikaru Nakamura and Mamedyarov, GM Volokitin is someone to pay attention to!

14 chapters cover 7 deeply analysed games as well as theoretical background on each of the 8 variations mentioned above.

This is the essential DVD for players wishing to Master the Sicilian Najdorf.

In an opening as sharp as the Sicilian Najdorf, tactical bloodbaths are commonplace and the player who knows where the weak points are, and how to exploit them, wins.

The asymmetrical pawn structure gives rise to a multitude of tactical shots and ideas with Black’s play generally focusing on the queenside while White tends to play on the kingside.

By understanding how these attacks come about, which sacrifices work and how to deal with your opponent’s threats, you'll be the one coming out on top.

In this course, International Master Robert Ris will give you advice on how to face the Najdorf with White and succeed!

Fear no more! IM Ris will give you the tools to come out on top no matter the variation. IM Ris covers all the options Black can throw at you.

Rapid Attacks. Timing is everything. Burst out of the blocks with Robert’s rapid development tips.

The b2 Bait. Our early Bg5 move leaves b2 undefended and Black usually captures the pawn after ...Qb6. IM Ris shows you how to lock Black’s queen out of the action while opening up devastating lines of attack against the abandoned king!

The series focuses on the contributions made by the 2 most famous chess players in history and how they used the Sicilian Najdorf to their advantage in some of their most famous games.

The purpose of this DVD is to demonstrate to the beginner and intermediate chess players the basic and advanced principles of one of the most dangerous openings known to the game of chess - the Sicilian Najdorf.

Garry Kasparov and Bobby Fischer are my favorite chess players and I learned an incredible amount about the similarities and differences found in their respective styles, specifically about their ideologies in the Sicilian Najdorf.

Is this course for me?

If you want to master one of the most deadly openings in chess, the Sicilian Najdorf, with expert analysis of the memorable games of 2 world champions in an incredible Bobby Fischer vs Garry Kasparov Sicilian Najdorf battle, then this course is perfect for you.

The Sicilian Najdorf is one of the sharpest openings in chess, demanding incredible energy and resourcefulness from both sides to maintain the balance in strongly double-edged positions.

The Fischer-Sozin Attack with 6. Bc4 is well known as one of the most complicated lines in the Najdorf, as White immediately declares his aggressive intentions of controlling the critical d5 square and increasing the pressure on the a2-g8 diagonal.

The Najdorf Variation of the Sicilian Defense is one of the most complex opening systems ever conceived, achieving mass popularity in the mid-20th century mainly due to the early efforts of Argentine Grandmaster Miguel Najdorf and later the 11th World Chess Champion Bobby Fischer.

Bobby Fischer brings the Sicilian Najdorf to the forefront

Fischer improved the Najdorf as a system by employing it at the very highest level of chess in his time, developing the system as a well-rounded and incredibly dangerous weapon against anyone opponent who dared play 1. e4.

Fischer's responses to the main lines in the Najdorf (6. Bc4, 6. Bg5, 6. Be2, 6. Be3, etc..) demonstrated a pragmatic approach to opening play in such a double-edged system, not forcing matters but preferring a very direct approach to active development and a coordinated, energetic position with the black pieces.

Fischer's theoretical contributions in the 1960s brought the Najdorf to the forefront of modern chess, giving rise to the popularity of this double-edged opening system to players of all levels.

The Opening Further Evolves Under Kasparov

Garry Kasparov is one of the few world champions in the era of computers to have the guts and depth of preparation to employ the Najdorf at the highest level in chess.

Kasparov's theoretical contributions to the Najdorf are immense, as he played the opening with such energy and activity that many of his opponents were forced to avoid 1.e4 as white because Kasparov was simply too well prepared in the Sicilian Najdorf.

Studying the games of Bobby Fischer will give you an excellent background on the fundamentals of the opening. However, studying the critical games of Garry Kasparov will provide you with the type of precision and insane activity that is required to excel in the Sicilian Najdorf at the elite level.

Take your Najdorf to The Next Level

This DVD is guaranteed to take your opening play as black against 1. e4 to another level, as you will undoubtedly be prepared to fight as actively and energetically as Fischer and Kasparov with one of the most dangerous openings in the game of chess.

I hope you will enjoy watching this DVD as much as I did making it!

80/20 Tactics Multiplier: Volume 06

Most people learn an opening by becoming familiar with its typical positional ideas and trying to remember the most important theoretical lines. But this is not enough, especially in an opening as sharp as the notorious Sicilian Najdorf. Here, tactical bloodbaths are commonplace and the player who knows where the weak points are, and how to exploit them, wins.

GM Niclas Huschenbeth brings to you a masterclass of chess tactics in the Sicilian Najdorf, giving you a complete understanding of the typical tactical patterns for both sides.

About the Author:

Niclas Huschenbeth is a young and talented German chess grandmaster. Huschenbeth obtained his grandmaster title at the start of 2012. He has played both sides of the Najdorf for many years. When asked what his favorite openings are for White and Black, he simply responded, "The Najdorf!"

His most notable success to date was becoming the youngest German champion ever, at the age of 18 in 2010. He also represented Germany at the Chess Olympiads of 2008 and 2010. He is currently studying psychology on the East Coast of the United States, where he plays on his university team.

How can I benefit from this course?

The Sicilian Najdorf is a chess opening for Black against 1.e4 which starts with the moves 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 a6.

It is considered to be one of the sharpest openings you can play. Moreover, it is also known to be one of the most extensively analyzed opening systems in chess and one of the most-feared counter-attacking options against the move 1.e4.

80/20 Tactics Multiplier: Sicilian Najdorf helps improve your understanding of the typical tactical themes in the most exciting opening in chess, as well as making you a super-sharp tactician with the included test positions.

Here's just some of what you'll learn with this course:

Analyzing the Sicilian Najdorf can be a good starting point to improve your chess tactics because it is an inherently tactical opening. In his course, GM Niclas Huschenbeth analyzes typical motifs for Black and White.

The thematic Knight sacrifice on d5

One of White’s most common piece sacrifices in the Sicilian Najdorf is the knight sacrifice on d5. In the Sicilian, Black usually doesn’t castle quickly. Instead, they aim to improve the position of the queenside pieces first.

This allows White to launch a quick attack against Black’s king, which is sitting on e8. Take a look at the example diagram on the right - in this particular case, the knight d5-sacrifice wins on the spot.

The Rook Sacrifice on c3

Due to the fact that Black’s queenside rook almost always goes to the half-open c-file, Black often has the possibility of sacrificing an exchange on c3. Generally speaking, there are some conditions under which this sacrifice gives Black sufficient compensation for the material investment.

The d5-break in the center

It’s a common theme in the Sicilian Najdorf to aim for a d5-break in the center. Especially in the lines where Black plays an early …e5, the d5-square and the backward d6-pawn are weak.

If you are a Sicilian Najdorf player, or you always have some trouble when someone plays it against you, the 80/20 Tactics Multiplier in the Sicilian Najdorf is definitely going to help you obtain much better results in your games.

Now is your turn... What are you waiting for?

The Sicilian Najdorf is considered the Rolls-Royce of chess openings: sharp, complex, full of tactical and strategic considerations. It has been used by virtually every World Champion and was a favorite of the greats Garry Kasparov and Bobby Fischer.

However, it can be unforgiving. One small slip can be enough to turn a good position into defeat. Master the Najdorf, however, and you will be a feared opponent who regularly gains wins as Black.

In this 4h 17m series, WGM Sopiko Guramishvili, a big fan of this opening, reveals the theory and ideas behind all the main variations as well as the sidelines.

This series is a must for anyone who plays or ever faces the Sicilian Najdorf.

Garry Kasparov sits crouched forward, head in his hands in deep concentration…

His 2650 level opponent is launching pawns forward on the kingside, but Garry is not worried at all… he has seen it all before.

He takes off his watch and places it beside the board with a deep exhale…

Then he reaches out his hand, grabs the rook on c8 and sacrifices it on c3. KABOOM.

A thunderous attack ensues and Kasparov forces resignation on move 30.

Now, we know that Kasparov was one of the most dynamic players ever to live… but without dynamic weapons, even the most dynamic player becomes rather dull.

GM Marian Petrov was asked which was Kasparov’s most deadly opening weapon…

His answer? The Sicilian Najdorf!

If you’re ready to learn the Black repertoire that kept Kasparov at the top for 20 years, grab this course and enjoy.

The Najdorf Poisoned Pawn: Then and Now - GM Bryan Smith

A pawn is said to be poisoned because its capture can result in a positional disadvantage and or the loss of material. The best known of these is a line of the Sicilian Defense, Najdorf Variation. One of the pioneers of this line was David Bronstein , who tied the 1951World Championship match against Mikhail Botvinnik 12–12.

Bobby Fischer later became a practitioner, playing it with great success. Recently revived GM Bryan Smith shows you how it was historically used, and how our modern top-class players such Anand are using it.

In this 6+ hour DVD hosted by GM Simon Williams and GM Danny Gormally, we aim to teach you one of the most aggressive replies to 1.e4, the Sicilian Najdorf.

Also on hand is GM Simon Williams, who utilizes 20+ years of teaching to ask questions relevant to the casual or club player, ensuring that there is no stone left unturned in helping you learn this aggressive and historically-respected variation of the classic Sicilian Defence, frequently employed by world champions, Bobby Fischer and Gary Kasparov.

Here are some of the most important lessons you'll learn:

The Rook Sacrifice on c3

Learn how the legendary Gary Kasparov sacrificed the exchange on c3 in order to get an active counterplay on the queenside, while his King was still sitting in the middle of the board.

Sacrificing the exchange on c3 in order to get a very active counterplay on the queenside is a very typical idea in many variations of the Sicilian Defense.

You can see how black does this with great results.

Opposite side attacks!

It's very common to see White castling queenside in order to start an attack against the Black King, which usually castles kingside or stays in the center for some time.

You'll learn how to play actively in order to create counterplay on the queenside before your opponent starts his own attack on the kingside.

The …d5 break

In many variations of the Sicilian Defense, especially on the Sicilian Najorf, White obtains a space advantage in the center and puts pressure on the d5 square.

Learn how to quickly equalize or even get an advantage with the Black pieces, by playing the common breakthrough ...d5.

Rather than bombarding the student with endless theoretical variations to memorize, ‘The Lazy Najdorf’ aims to teach you the main ideas, concepts, structures, replies etc., in an easy-to-remember and simple fashion.

Overview

Sicilian Najdorf Mega Bundle

If you are an aggressive player that likes to attack even if you play with Black, the Sicilian Najdorf is the right chess opening for you.

Sicilian Najdorf Mega Bundle
Sicilian Najdorf starting position

We are talking about a sharp, double-edged, and combative chess opening for Black.

The Sicilian Najdorf arises after the moves 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 a6 (diagram).

In this mega bundle, you’ll be getting 53+ hours of premium chess courses on the Sicilian Najdorf.

Some of the courses are from Black’s perspective, and some are from White’s point of view.

Regardless of which side are you on, this bundle is the absolute guide for those who want to master the Sicilian Najdorf.

How is this course on the Sicilian Najdorf going to help you?

You’ll learn:

 • The Rook Sacrifice on c3. Due to the fact that Black’s queenside rook almost always goes to the half-open c-file, Black often has the possibility of sacrificing an exchange on c3. Generally speaking, there are some conditions under which this sacrifice gives Black sufficient compensation for the material investment.
 • The d5-break in the center. It’s a common theme in the Sicilian Najdorf to aim for a d5-break in the center. Especially in the lines where Black plays an early …e5, the d5-square and the backward d6-pawn are weak.
 • Stunning Tactics. Watching these videos will build your intuitive feel for your attacking options, and when and where to chase your opponent’s pieces. This makes it easy to set up jaw-dropping tactics.

You’ll get the following Sicilian Najdorf chess courses:

Crushing White with the Sicilian Najdorf – GM Rafael Leitao

Sicilian Najdorf Mega Bundle

Empire Chess – Vol 16

If you are looking for an opening for black against 1. e4 where you are guaranteed to be able to fight for a win in every variation, look no further! The Sicilian Najdorf is the most aggressive weapon for black against 1. e4.

The Sicilian Defense has been consistently providing the most double-edged positions in chess over the last 70 years.

From the very first moves, the Sicilian Najdorf presents a level of danger for both sides that is unseen in any other chess opening – providing an exceptionally high percentage of decisive results.

The reasons for this are simple – the Sicilian Najdorf creates huge imbalances by the very nature of the structure.

GM Rafael Leitao has played the Sicilian Defense, especially de Najdorf variation for nearly 20 years and in this 3-hour chess DVD, he provides the viewers with the positional foundation that is required to achieve consistent success with this complicated defense against 1. e4.

GM Leitao explains that you should understand the positional concepts associated with mainline theory, but that doesn’t mean you have to memorize every single line.

How is this course going to help me?

In this chess DVD, the Brazilian Grandmaster presents his recommended variations in every mainline and sideline of the Najdorf variation so that viewers will have a complete, narrowly focused arsenal with black against 1. e4!

Sicilian Najdorf Mega Bundle

The Sicilian Defense, especially the Najdorf variation is truly an opening where black maintains opportunities for active play and winning chances in every single line. There are no easy ways for white to choose a dull line and try to force a drawish position from the opening.

This exactly why the Sicilian Defense is one of the most popular chess openings at the Grandmaster and world chess champion level – it has been employed frequently by legendary players like Bobby Fischer, Garry Kasparov, Viswanathan Anand, Veselin Topalov, Boris Gelfand, and more.

The only downside of the Sicilian Najdorf is that you must be familiar with the theory to achieve great success. However, that doesn’t mean you need to memorize 10 different main lines and sidelines to get good positions from the opening.

Here’s some of what you’ll learn with this course:

Thematic pawn breaks

Black typically aims for the pawn breaks involving ..d6-d5 and ..b7-b5 to liberate his position, combined with strong pressure on the half-open c-file.

Play Against 7.Bg5

GM Leitao will show you fashionable ways to play against the most tactical variation of the Najdof Sicilian, as well as the very popular English attack with 7.Be3 and g4.

Bobby Fischer’s favorite line

Learn how to play against the Sicilian Najdorf yourself, using the variation that was the longtime favorite of former world champion, GM Bobby Fischer, 7.Bc4.

As presenter GM Rafael Leitao explains, you must understand the reasons behind the moves to be truly successful with the black pieces when playing the Sicilian Najdorf.

Get ready to win against 1.e4 with the black pieces!

Enjoy this course!

Mastering the Sicilian Najdorf – GM Andrei Volokitin – Emprie Empire Chess Vol 86

Sicilian Najdorf Mega BundleGM Andrei Volokitin presents a 3-hour masterclass on the Sicilian Najdorf – considered the Rolls Royce (or Cadillac) of chess openings. A favorite of Bobby Fischer and Garry Kasparov, the Najdorf variation gives both White and Black many ways to play for a win.

However, the opening is so sharp that one mistake can mean defeat – which is why it is essential to understand the Najdorf properly if you are going to play it yourself or if you are a 1.e4 player. Even after the initial moves (1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 a6) there are many good alternatives.

There are the 4 Bishop moves:

 • Bg5 – controlling d5 by challenging the Knight, incredibly sharp
 • Be3 – aiming to castle Queenside and start a pawn storm against Black’s King
 • Be2 – Karpov’s favorite, the positional move
 • Bc4 – Fischer’s favorite, eyeing d5 but expect sacrifices on e6 and f7 too.

…and 4 pawn moves:

 • 6.f3 – planning Be3 and Qd2 without allowing Ng4
 • 6.h3 – followed by g4 and often Bg2, White can choose to play aggressively or positionally
 • 6.a4 – restricting Black’s Queenside counterplay straight away
 • 6.f4 – the most aggressive move, White will play e5 or f5

VECO – Vol#11 The Najdorf for White

Sicilian Najdorf Mega Bundle

In an opening as sharp as the Sicilian Najdorf, tactical bloodbaths are commonplace and the player who knows where the weak points are, and how to exploit them, wins.

The asymmetrical pawn structure gives rise to a multitude of tactical shots and ideas with Black’s play generally focusing on the queenside while White tends to play on the kingside.

By understanding how these attacks come about, which sacrifices work and how to deal with your opponent’s threats, you’ll be the one coming out on top.

In this course, International Master Robert Ris will give you advice on how to face the Najdorf with White and succeed!

Sicilian Najdorf Mega BundleAbout the Author:

Robert Ris is a Dutch International Master.

Ris learned how to play chess from his father when he was eight years old, and started playing in SV Amstelveen. In 2002 he started playing for SC Utrecht, and, later, in other clubs.

In the same year, he also won the Open Dutch Youth Chess Championship, which he had also won the D category (up to 12 years) in 1999. Ris has been an international chess coach since 2007. He was also part of the selection of Young Orange.

How is this course going to help me?

Fear no more! IM Ris will give you the tools to come out on top no matter the variation. IM Ris covers all the options Black can throw at you.

 • Rapid Attacks. Timing is everything. Burst out of the blocks with Robert’s rapid development tips.
 • The b2 Bait. Our early Bg5 move leaves b2 undefended and Black usually captures the pawn after …Qb6. This is the infamous “poisoned pawn” variation and it can be good for either side. IM Ris shows you how to lock Black’s queen out of the action while opening up devastating lines of attack against the abandoned king!
 • Sicilian Najdorf Mega BundleStunning Tactics. Watching these videos will build your intuitive feel for your attacking options, and when and where to chase your opponent’s pieces. This makes it easy to set up jaw-dropping tactics.

..and more!

Bobby Fischer vs Garry Kasparov – Mastering the Sicilian Najdorf

Sicilian Najdorf Mega Bundle
Garry Kasparov vs Bobby Fischer differed in how they handled the 6. Bg5 line

In this is 4-hour DVD, FM William Stewart will give you an in-depth look into the Sicilian Najdorf, focusing particularly on the games of Bobby Fischer and Garry Kasparov.

The series focuses on the contributions made by the 2 most famous chess players in history and how they used the Sicilian Najdorf to their advantage in some of their most famous games.

The purpose of this DVD is to demonstrate to the beginner and intermediate chess players the basic and advanced principles of one of the most dangerous openings known to the game of chess – the Sicilian Najdorf.

Garry Kasparov and Bobby Fischer are my favorite chess players and I learned an incredible amount about the similarities and differences found in their respective styles, specifically about their ideologies in the Sicilian Najdorf.

About the Author:

Is this course for me?

Sicilian Najdorf Mega Bundle
Sicilian Najdorf – Sozin Attack

Fischer improved the Najdorf as a system by employing it at the very highest level of chess in his time, developing the system as a well-rounded and incredibly dangerous weapon against anyone opponent who dared play 1. e4.

Fischer’s responses to the main lines in the Najdorf (6. Bc4, 6. Bg5, 6. Be2, 6. Be3, etc..) demonstrated a pragmatic approach to opening play in such a double-edged system, not forcing matters but preferring a very direct approach to active development and a coordinated, energetic position with the black pieces.

Fischer’s theoretical contributions in the 1960s brought the Najdorf to the forefront of modern chess, giving rise to the popularity of this double-edged opening system to players of all levels.

The Opening Further Evolves Under Kasparov

Garry Kasparov is one of the few world champions in the era of computers to have the guts and depth of preparation to employ the Najdorf at the highest level in chess.

Kasparov’s theoretical contributions to the Najdorf are immense, as he played the opening with such energy and activity that many of his opponents were forced to avoid 1.e4 as white because Kasparov was simply too well prepared in the Sicilian Najdorf.

80/20 Tactics Multiplier: Tactics the Sicilian Najdorf – GM Niclas Huschenbeth

Sicilian Najdorf Mega Bundle

About the Author:

Niclas Huschenbeth is a young and talented German chess grandmaster. Huschenbeth obtained his grandmaster title at the start of 2012. He has played both sides of the Najdorf for many years. When asked what his favorite openings are for White and Black, he simply responded, “The Najdorf!”

Here’s just some of what you’ll learn with this course:

Analyzing the Sicilian Najdorf can be a good starting point to improve your chess tactics because it is an inherently tactical opening. In his course, GM Niclas Huschenbeth analyzes typical motifs for Black and White.

Sicilian Najdorf Mega BundleThe thematic Knight sacrifice on d5

One of White’s most common piece sacrifices in the Sicilian Najdorf is the knight sacrifice on d5. In the Sicilian, Black usually doesn’t castle quickly. Instead, they aim to improve the position of the queenside pieces first.

This allows White to launch a quick attack against Black’s king, which is sitting on e8. Take a look at the example diagram on the right – in this particular case, the knight d5-sacrifice wins on the spot.

Now is your turn… What are you waiting for?

Learn an opening, learn the winning middlegame ideas and improve your tactics with this 80/20 Chess Tactics Multiplier!

The Najdorf Poisoned Pawn: Then and Now – GM Bryan Smith

A pawn is said to be poisoned because its capture can result in a positional disadvantage and or the loss of material. The best known of these is a line of the Sicilian Defense, Najdorf Variation. One of the pioneers of this line was David Bronstein , who tied the 1951World Championship match against Mikhail Botvinnik 12–12.

Bobby Fischer later became a practitioner, playing it with great success. Recently revived GM Bryan Smith shows you how it was historically used, and how our modern top-class players such Anand are using it.

Content: 126 minutes of instruction and analysis in a series of 3 lectures. PGN Included.

Is the course for me?

Boasting 17 key games with expert Grandmaster analysis, and 7 distinct chapters of sharp theory, this DVD provides the chess student, novice or advanced alike, with everything you need to confidently begin to play this opening or refresh your previous repertoire.

Here are some of the most important lessons you’ll learn:

The Rook Sacrifice on c3

Sicilian Najdorf Mega BundleLearn how the legendary Gary Kasparov sacrificed the exchange on c3 in order to get an active counterplay on the queenside, while his King was still sitting in the middle of the board.

Sacrificing the exchange on c3 in order to get a very active counterplay on the queenside is a very typical idea in many variations of the Sicilian Defense.

You can see how black does this with great results.

Opposite side attacks!

It’s very common to see White castling queenside in order to start an attack against the Black King, which usually castles kingside or stays in the center for some time.

You’ll learn how to play actively in order to create counterplay on the queenside before your opponent starts his own attack on the kingside.

The …d5 break

In many variations of the Sicilian Defense, especially on the Sicilian Najorf, White obtains a space advantage in the center and puts pressure on the d5 square.

Learn how to quickly equalize or even get an advantage with the Black pieces, by playing the common breakthrough …d5.

Rather than bombarding the student with endless theoretical variations to memorize, ‘The Lazy Najdorf’ aims to teach you the main ideas, concepts, structures, replies etc., in an easy-to-remember and simple fashion.
